- Drawing the Hands -

Learning to draw the hands is something to have to keep doing until you get it. I suggest practicing on scrap paper using blocks... And you can always use your hand as a reference.

Helpful Hint One:
Use your own hands for reference.

Helpful Hint Two:
There is a gap between the fingers. Think the shape of a 'U', rather then a 'V'.

Helpful Hint Three:
The thumb reaches about halfway up the base digit of the index finger.

Helpful Hint Four:
The thumb sticks out from an area starting at the base of the palm, and reaching halfway up the palm.

Using Blocks -

Using blocks can help you shape the hand in the correct way.

You can roughly base your block hands on quick glances of your own hand.

Practice drawing your own hand on any scrap paper you have lying around.

Examples -

Try drawing whichever hand your not using to draw with. Pick up any object around you and see if you can draw your hand holding it. (Note: the thing wrapped around my hand in the second picture is my bending ruler. )
